I would like to introduce myself. My name is Curt Cahoon, and I am owner and operator of Sheepdog Defense Solutions. I grew up in Southwest Louisiana. My mother and father were both Life Members of the NRA. I followed in their footsteps and am also a Life Member of the NRA. My parents introduced me to firearms as a young boy. My childhood was spent hunting and fishing the marshes and bayous of Louisiana. After graduation from High School, I immediately enlisted in the Army. After my military service I returned home and attended college. I then joined my local police department. I served my community there for 25 years and retired at the rank of Police Captain. I retired in 2012. I moved to Las Vegas in 2018 after retirement. I now am employed as a Regional Trainer for the largest security company in the world. I have 30 years of combined experience in my field. In 2021 I had a vision of continuing my service to my community through firearm education and personal defense. I started Sheepdog Defense Solutions for that purpose. My goal is to help educate and train the people of my community in the responsible use and ownership of firearms. To help them further develop their skills and knowledge to a higher level. I am an NRA Law Enforcement Instructor. I am a graduate of Rangemaster 3-day Instructor Development and Rangemaster Advanced Instructor Development. I hold numerous Instructor Certification through NRA and I am also a USCCA Instructor. I am a certified CCW Instructor for the State of Nevada, Utah, and Louisiana. I am a Certified Firearms Instructor for the State of Nevada and licensed with the Public Investigators Licensing Board (P.I.L.B.) to certify individuals for the Armed Guard endorsement. To sum up, my goal is to continue my service to my community and pass on to students my experience and training to help them develop their skills and knowledge to a higher standard and level of proficiency.
